“Happy New Year” is carefully hand-painted on the plate in my own handwriting within a beautiful, artisanal frame. It is glazed in a lovely “Christmas Green” and fired in the kiln at 1250°, making it durable and dishwasher-safe.
The shape and glaze are essentially the same, but because everything is handmade—and I want to clearly highlight this—no two plates will be exactly alike. This is my concept and creativity—the opposite of mass production.
The plates are made from natural clay. On the outside of each plate, I intentionally leave a rough clay area at the bottom to contrast with the glazed interior and top.
My work is marked with the stylized “a” from “artisann” and is patented.
Ann Van Beersel’s ceramics embody functionality—beautiful, high-quality objects designed for everyday use, with imperfection as a recurring theme in my designs. The various collections add authenticity to a decorated table and can be endlessly combined to create a breakfast set or a complete dinnerware set.
Production Process
High-temperature firing is possible because the clay is stoneware clay, which can withstand these high temperatures. I also specially designed the glaze recipe for firing at 1250°—it’s unique. This firing and production process ensures the collection’s high quality, making cracks, chips, and other defects virtually nonexistent.
Easy to maintain, dishwasher-safe, and resistant to high temperatures.
This is a Belgian product with a quality guarantee and bears the HIB label “Handmade in Belgium.”
The “a” and “Artisann” are patented and unique.
